  Algonquin College Delegations

The Social Service Worker Program, Perth Campus  - This two-year diploma program prepares students to work with disadvantaged individuals, groups, and community members. To enhance students' learning of global social welfare issues, students may elect to participate in a study tour to visit rural community projects in El Salvador. This experience is in partnership with SalvAide. El Salvador has been ravaged by a lengthy civil war, as well as earthquakes and hurricanes, and continues to battle poverty.

Her Revolution
This unique one-person biographical show examined the political struggles of a young woman. Written and performed by Julia Ahumada Grob, a young Chilean-American dramatist/actress, is an autobiographical interpretation and effort to understand her political and personal identity. Daughter of Chilean solidarity activists, a mother from the U.S. and an exiled Chilean father, the young actress interpreted seven parts, amongst them her own mother; her father; a light hearted “gringa” solidarity worker; a Chilean political activist; her name sake, Julia; and herself.
