SalvAide's partners have long placed an emphasis on developing leadership skills among young Salvadorans. Youth are encouraged to take on more community responsibilities at a young age, all the while enhancing their knowledge of human rights and just development. These youth leaders are then more able to advance their communities' agendas with government and other actors.

A further benefit of this youth leadership training is the provision of an alternative to unhealthy youth gang lifestyles and the temptation to emigrate north that are placing an entire Salvadoran generation in jeopardy. We believe that El Salvador's future, as with any other nation, lies in its young people being capable, confident protagonists in their communities.

SalvAide has partnered with CRIPDES to launch a Peacebuilding and Youth Leadership Training Program aiming to provide a structured environment to augment rural youth's leadership skills. The Training Program has received generous support from Carranza LLP and the Loretto Sisters.
